With seven wins, 16 top-tens and a $25 million FedEx Cup Playoffs final prize, Scottie Scheffler and his accountant had pretty good years. The World No. 1 raked in just over $62.3 million for the season and can now have as many Texas ribeye steaks as he could possibly want. The PGA Tour might not have LIV Golf payouts, but Scheffler still cashed in and isn’t experiencing “deep regret” on a daily basis.
Like Scheffler, caddie Ted Scott also raked in the benjamins this season. In fact, if Scott were a player, he would have finished the 2023-’24 season in the top 20 on the money list. That’s called backing the right horse.
The veteran caddie is calculated to have earned $2.6 million purely from Scheffler’s winnings in 2024 alone and that’s before a playoffs bonanza in which Scott took home a tidy change of $2.5M at East Lake.
NBC Sports has also estimated that Scott has accumulated $5,238,499.57 in total, which is right between Matthieu Pavon and Brian Harman on the PGA Tour money list. That would be the No. 20 spot for Ted Scott above big-time golfers like Adam Scott, Tommy Fleetwood, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas and Max Homa.
money? Build a backyard par 3, so he can practice carrying bags? Open a gym that focuses on lifting things up and walking for miles and miles? Maybe he’ll just take a vacation and spend some time making someone else pick out stuff for him?
No matter what he decides, we might not see Scott again for a while. The man himself (jokingly?) tweeted “Yep. I’m not coming back until 2026 😜” on Tuesday. Let the holdout begin…
