Hatton was “trying not to cry” and “lost for words” after winning the tournament. He described it as “really special” and “the first time I’ve actually won a tournament with my dad here”.
Hatton shot a final-round 2-under 70, defeating Nicolas Colsaerts by one shot. He tied the tournament record of 24-under par.
Hatton played all four days with his father, Jeff, as his amateur partner. The duo finished second in the team competition at 46 under.
Hatton’s win made him the first player to win the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship three times.
