Tiger Woods’ ex-wife Elin Nordegren ‘deeply unimpressed’ when he treated romance like ‘room service’

James Patterson’s new novel spills the tea on how golf superstar Tiger Woods wooed his former wife Elin Nordegren. The book paints a picture of Woods‘ offbeat charm offensive in netting his lady love.

The world watched as the teenage prodigy – who has teamed with Rory McIlroy on an exciting project – took the sports world by storm and closely followed his romance with Nordegren, who he met in 2001 while she was minding kids for golfer Jesper Parnevik at only 21 years of age.

Patterson claims 25-year-old Woods fancied the Swedish au pair right off the bat yet was too shy to make his move. So, he sent a member of his squad to break the ice, which didn’t exactly bowl Nordegren over

“That’s the way he’s lived his life,” Patterson dished to the Daily Mail, likening Woods’ tactic in finding a partner to ordering room service saying: “Whatever Woods needed, whether it was room service or a wife, his first instinct was to say, ‘Let’s get a manager to do that’.” Despite having a beau back in Sweden, Nordegren said yes to a date with Woods, setting them on the path to tying the knot in 2004. Meanwhile, Woods continued his march towards golfing immortality, securing 15 major titles and chasing the legend Jack Nicklaus. Tiger Woods, a renowned golfer whose impressive career started in 1995, has still not revealed any plans for retirement. He achieved his 14th major title in 2008 and then waited 11 years before securing his next big win at the Masters tournament in 2019. During the 2024 season, Woods competed in all four major events but only made the cut at the Masters. Since his celebrated win at Augusta in 2019 and suffering severe leg injuries due to a car accident in February 2021, Woods has not managed to finish in the top 10 at any major event.

Before a public split in 2010, Woods was married to Elin Nordegren. The marriage ended due to allegations of his multiple affairs, which led to dramatic incidents, including one where Nordegren called one of Woods’s accused mistress from his own phone.

Woods once said, “After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person,” when the couple separated in 2010.

One incident involved Nordegren shattering the window of Woods’s SUV near their house in Florida. She is currently dating former NFL tight end Jordan Cameron.

“Tiger, Tiger: His Life, As It’s Never Been Told Before” by James Patterson, which was released on July 15, 2024, quickly climbed the New York Times bestseller list.
